Answer -


The subtrochanteric fracture mentioned in the case might be an ''Atypical fracture''. These are related to bisphosphonate complications in the long term. Subtrochanteric region is common site and certain characteristic features help to distinguish these from normal fractures.

Pavlik harness ,also used in management of DDH (Development dysplasia of hip), has been mentioned as treatment modality for femur fracture in infants.

Buck’s traction is like below knee skin traction and these are used in adults for various indications.

Thomas splint is best answer if the case is not very young child.

Functional splint or functional braces are effective method for conservative fracture care but usually applied to adults or older children who follow instructions.
